A picture of Llantrisant Castle
Llantrisant castle was built around 1250 by Richard de Clare the Lord of Glamorgan. In the 13th century it was one of the most important castles in Glamorgan. One tower wall from the Raven tower is the only thing that remains of the once impressive castle. I happened to come across this castle when hiking one of the a ridge-walks in the surrounding country side.
